7/8 Inch Sterling Silver Oval St. Rita Medal, Patron Saint of Impossible Causes

7/8 x 1/2 inch satin and antiqued finish sterling silver St. Rita oval medal on an 18 inch stainless steel rhodium plated chain. The pendant features a raised profile image of Saint Rita on the front, who is shown at prayer and holding a circlet of thorns. On the top and bottom of the pendant are the words, "Saint Rita Pray For Us". The back of the medal is blank with a brushed finish but can be engraved with the message of your choice. Saint Rita was an Augustinian nun who was known for the efficacy of her prayers - various miracles are attributed to her intercession, and she is often portrayed with a bleeding wound on her forehead which indicates a partial stigmata. She also often holds a circlet of thorns. She was canonized in the year 1900 by Pope Leo XIII.
